REGISTRATION TYPES AND FEES
Survivor Registration FREE Survivor: Inspired Individual:$30 Team: $25 All survivors’ entry fees are underwritten by the Doctors for the Cure® program developed 16 years ago by Komen Nebraska. (Survivors who wish to be timed need to add on the timing chip option near the bottom of the entry form.)Breast cancer survivors who wish to be recognized may pick up their complimentary pink cap and pink t-shirt, provided by Zeta Tau Alpha, as part of their registered participant packet. Survivor: Inspired: To go along with our 2010 theme of "Are you Inspired to Save a Life?", we offer this new registration option. In the past, many Survivors have asked for the opportunity to support breast health efforts in Nebraska and national breast cancer research by funding their own Race registration. This option provides our Survivors the opportunity to register as a paid participant and still be recognized as a Survivor at the Race.
Individual Registration $30.00 Day of Race: $40.00 From its beginning in 1994, when there were 1,300 participants, the Nebraska Race has grown each year. The Komen Nebraska Race for the Cure® celebrates its 17th year in 2010 with a goal of 22,500 participants! If you register online, check out our option of having your t-shirt mailed to you prior to the Race. This allows your first pick at t-shirts sizes! As a reminder, t-shirt pick up will NOT be available on Race day for pre-registered participants!
Team Registration $25.00 Join together in a group of 15 or more to participate as a Team. Team members are encouraged to register online under the same team name (but, for ease of registration, please don’t start your team name with “The” or “Team”). If the team is mailing in the registration forms, please mail all team entries together. Check out the Teams tab for more information on our teams program or on being a team captain.
Kids for the Cure® (Ages 3-12) Individual: $15.00 Team: $10.00 The first 1,500 kids who register will receive a kid’s t-shirt (sizes not guaranteed) and will be automatically entered into a drawing to win a bike and other special raffle prizes (must be present to win). Day of Race registrants will not be eligible for prizes or goody bags. Announcement of the drawing winners will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Race day.
Children under 3 FREE Children under three may accompany a parent free of charge, but will need to register as a separate Race participant and will not receive a t-shirt. In order to receive a t-shirt they must be registered in Kids for the Cure® and pay the registration fee.
Sleep In for the Cure® Individual: $30.00 Team: $25.00 Sleepwalker Package Individual: $45.00 Team: $40.00 Out of town? Can’t make it to the Race? Just too sleepy? No excuses on Race Day! Register for the Sleep In for the Cure® and you’ll receive a Sleep In for the Cure® pillowcase in lieu of a t-shirt either from your Team Captain (if registered on a team) or in the mail (if registered individually). If you'd like the flexibility of making plans closer to Race day (or just want a pillowcase AND a t-shirt), register for our Sleepwalker package, where you'll receive both!
Chip-Timing add-on $5.00 For those participants who wish to be timed, you must register as a chip-timed runner for an additional $5.00. Timing chips can be picked up at the individual packet pick-up on October 1st or 2nd, or on Race Day at the chip-timing table (next to the General Information table) until 7:30 a.m. Each chip-timed participant, even if they are a team member, will be responsible for picking up his/her own chip; timing chips will not be distributed in the team packets.
T-shirt Mailing add-on $5.00 Due to the overwhelming support and participation our Race has received, we are no longer able to distribute t-shirts the morning of the Race to pre-registered participants. If you are on a team, your Team Captain will obtain and distribute your t-shirt and Race bib. If you are registered as an individual participant, we encourage you to take advantage of our new t-shirt mailing option. Not only will you receive your t-shirt in the mail (and not have to come pick it up), we'll begin mailing t-shirts as early as September 10th. Get you t-shirt before anyone else in town and get first dibbs on t-shirt sizes-- have it mailed to you! In order to guarantee delivery of shirts prior to the Race, the t-shirt shipping option is available only until September 29, 2010.

I AM THE CURE™
Emotional. Memorable. Motivational. I AM THE CURE™ is the new rallying cry of the Komen Race for the Cure. The program stresses the importance of positive breast health practices and encourages women to take charge of their health. The program speaks to the importance of early detection the best defense against breast cancer and provides simple, action-oriented messages that Race participants can take home and put into practice. To join I AM THE CURE™ e-mail race@komennebraska.org.
PLEDGE PROGRAM
Go the extra mile and help raise additional funds for the fight against breast cancer! Every dollar donated represents another step towards fulfilling the Komen vision by directly supporting our local and national grant programs. If every one of our 22,500 participants raised just $45 in pledges, we would have $1,00,000+ to help in funding our efforts here in Nebraska.
Donations are tax-deductible. All pledge money and completed pledge forms must be received by October 31, 2010 to be eligible for prizes. See our Pledge for the Cure page for additional information on the Pledge program, or to make a pledge online click here.
